Four Year Blogiversary!

I have a shameless love for Potter Puppet Pals.

We made it!

Today marks my fourth year of blogging. And to tell the truth, I didn’t think I was going to make it this far. I came so close to quitting last year. Really, the only reason I stuck with it is because there are thousands of dollar worth of doll stuff in the basement, and I would feel guilty if I never touched them again. Plus, this blog has been part of my life for so long that I would hardly be the same person without it. Without blogging, I would never have gotten into photography and writing, and I wouldn’t have made so many amazing internet friends.

I’m so glad that I’m still blogging, even if I don’t post as much as I used to. And thank you all for sticking with me and my erratic posting schedule!

If I keep talking about how much blogging and my internet friends mean to me, I’ll start crying, so here are some “fun” stats for you:

– 533 posts
193,318 words

Weirdest searches that led to my blog:

– medical bag for american girl dolls
– ag thing i had around my house
– happy house of ag what is she doing? (Ha, I wish I knew.)
– dolls poetry of dear diary
– upset doll image (Do my dolls look that sad to you?)
– for chritmas i got a home (Chritmas is my favorite holiday!)
– no american girl dolls in the house (This sounds like my mom when I asked for my first AG.)
– america gril doll blog (An easy mistake.)
– how get 2015 free ag doll package delivered to your house (If I knew, I wouldn’t have had to pay for my Grace doll.)
– josie falling asleep (You sound like a stalker.)
– when truly me dolls get there
– jappy house of ag (I know what I’m going to rename my blog!)
– national friendship day coloring page
– how to make an american girl sized sword (I’ve actually made a wooden sword for my dolls . . .)
– dolls with very large dolls
– moping around
– women long transparent pvc raincoat size petite
– marshmallow jane american girl (What does this mean??)
– drum roll for soccer games
– Also: “American Girl” spelled in various, increasingly wrong ways

How am I planning to celebrate my blogiversary?

With a giveaway! It’s not ready yet, and it will definitely never top any of Madi’s giveaways, but it’s still something. Multiple somethings, actually. I’m still figuring everything out, but I’ll definitely post it before the end of April. (Hopefully in early April, but really, who knows.)

So . . . I guess that’s it. I’m not very good at this kind of post. I hope you enjoyed it anyway, and thanks for four years of bizarre games, mediocre photoshoots, poorly planned/unfinished photostories, and countless lovely blogging memories. I’m looking forward to another year. :)

How long have you been reading my blog? Let me know in the comments!

Three Years

03-DSC_1001

Today is rather important for this little blog. It marks three years since Happy House of AG was created. I’ve got to say, I really didn’t expect that this blog would still be running three years later — but here I am, still being weird and creative and enjoying having a corner of the internet all to myself.

I really wish that I had planned something special for today. You guys deserve an amazing surprise, as a thank you for sticking around, even when I disappear for weeks. But today kind of snuck up on me, and I didn’t have time to plan anything.

Over the years, this blog has grown so much. Seven American Girl dolls have joined the crew; four and a half (I know you guys are still worked up about Serpents, sorry) weird photostory series have taken place; over four hundred people thought this trashy site was cool enough to follow; you’ve left thousands of funny and encouraging comments; and I’ve made countless wonderful internet friends.

I hope Happy House of AG will still be around many years from now. But for now, I’ll just focus on making it to my four year blogiversary.

Thanks for everything, guys. I love you. :)

Two-Year Blogiversary

You did in fact read that correctly: it’s my two year blogiversary.

Two years ago, on March 27th, 2014, I started Happy House of AG.

TWO. WHOLE. YEARS.

Somehow, I managed to find enough inspiration to keep posting for two years. Which is pretty amazing, if you ask me. Sometimes I wanted to give up, because blogging is pretty hard. The pressure to post so many times a week. To post what people want to read. To have variety in my posts.

But I’ve kept going. And by doing that, I’ve created something very special.

This blog.

I have one of the most popular American Girl doll blogs to date. I’m sure that sounds conceited. But it’s not just me and my dolls and my photography that has made this blog what it is. No, it’s the people that read and comment and follow. You’re all amazing and kind, and every sweet comment makes my day. It blows me away to think just how many people I’ve inspired to start a blog, or how many people believe that I can be a best selling author, or how many friends I’ve made. You’re all so encouraging, and I don’t know where I’d be without you.

Well . . . mushy thank yous aside, who wants some stats? ;)

Now then. I have a surprise for you! It’s not quite as amazing as what I did last year — finishing The BFF Wars — but I still think you’ll like it. :)

And, no, it’s not a giveaway.

Ready to learn what the surprise is?

I’m starting Serpents!

Yep! I’m going to be posting the first part of Serpents, my new photostory series, today. Check back at 2:00 to read the first part!

Oh, and, uh, happy Easter. ;)

Guess What?

One year ago on March 27, I started this blog.

I can’t believe how well Happy House of AG is doing! I have 87 followers, 2,089 comments, 31,912 views, and at the moment, ranking second in Google. And, this is my 200th post. :)

The top commenters are DollDIYs, Rebekah, Dandelions and Daisies, Kaitlyn, Tenley and Nikki. Every comment makes my day.

Also, I changed my button to match my header — I’d appreciate it if you could change my old button for the new one:

A while ago, I said I would be finishing The BFF Wars today. Well . . .

HAHA Did I scare you?! Of course I’m finishing it! No fear! I also asked my readers if they had any guesses as to why I would finish the series on March 27. I got lots of ideas — from that it was my birthday, I was getting a new doll, to was it the first day of my spring break.

Now you know! Today is my blogiversary! (Or however you spell that.) Ali, Megan, Josie and Nikki guessed correctly.

I’m so thankful for every one of you (yes, you! Reading this post right now!). You’re all like the sisters I never had. (I, unfortunately, just have an annoying older brother . . .)

Well, you might be going crazy right now. “We want to read The BFF Wars!” you’re screaming. At 3:00 I’ll post part 8. And then, every hour, I’ll post another part. Leave your predictions for the series in the comments!
