New Girl

06-dsc_0043

I really was not planning on buying another doll. But as I do not have much self-control in the AG store, a new girl came home with me yesterday.

American Girl doll Truly Me #40 | Happy House of AG

Please welcome Parker (#40) to the HHOAG family.

I haven’t quite figured out her personality yet. But I believe she’ll be fourteen, with a love for the paranormal. I’m not entirely sure, though.

I almost got #64 instead, but I fell in love with Parker’s short hair.

I also bought the Tropical Print Dress from the new mix-and-match set.

My dad bought the Blue Sandals for me.

Would anyone like a review of her? Maybe a comparison between Parker and Ivy?

I got a pink hoodie and jeans.

And the Geo-Print Shorts.

That’s all I got at the D.C. store. I’ll probably do some reviews.

Anyway, please welcome Miss Parker.

DFA: It has Arrived! + The Sunny Summer Photo Shoot

Ugh, I’ve been such a terrible blogger lately . . . Seriously, it’s already the eighth of February, and this is only my fourth post! *sigh* I’ve just got to get inspired again. 😉

Anyway, since I have no posts in my draft that are close to being ready, I decided to post another DFA (Dragged From the Archives). This one was originally published in July 2014.

It has Arrived! + The Sunny Summer Photo Shoot

My prize from American Girl Fan‘s Summer Photo Contest arrived in the mail today!!

I am SO excited!

DSC_0252

I opened the very special brown box . . . and inside was a baby-blue box, (From AG!) and a note addressed to . . . wait for it . . . ME!!!

DSC_0253

Holding the note  closed was this super cute sticker that said ‘love’!

DSC_0254

And the outside of the  letter said ‘shine’. (You are not allowed to see the inside. It is classified. By me, for me.) The note was so sweet and thoughtful! Thank you so, so, so much, Liz!

DSC_0255

Then, that beautiful box, containing my beautiful prize!

DSC_0256

The Sunny Isles Outfit is so cute and amazing!

DSC_0257

I took all the pieces out of the box with tender, loving care. (NOT!)

DSC_0258

Then Saige, my gorgeous model, tried the outfit on! She graciously accepted my invitation to be my model. (Well, she really was like “Mom! I am going to be your model!”) Being her fashion-loving self, how could she refuse? Then I added some jewelry and headed out for a photo shoot!

AND NOW, I GIVE YOU:

~~~THE SUNNY SUMMER PHOTO SHOOT!~~~
I put a border on this one!
The charms mean ‘Kind.’
Saige: I look like a real girl! Plus, I’m just beyond cute in this pic 😀
DSC_0265
I love where the light falls on her face! Aren’t I an amazing photographer? *flips hair* Thought so.
Striped Hoodie Outfit (and More!) Review
Hi!
I ordered some stuff from American Girl, and they arrived today!
Emily in American Girl Raspberry Glasses 1
First up, I bought the Raspberry Glasses!
Emily in American Girl Raspberry Glasses 2
I got these because Hayley‘s Emily looks so cute in her glasses. They stay on the doll really well.
American Girl Raspberry Glasses case.
Here’s the cute case the glasses came with! It’s soft and fleecy 🙂 I rate this five stars! There’s nothing bad about it!
American Girl Sparkly Hair Pick
I got the Sparkly Hair Pick. It’s a transparent light purple color with silver sparkles in it. It worked really well on my Caroline’s messy hair. This is five stars also.
Emily in American Girl True Spirit Accessories
I bought the My American Girl True Spirit Accessories. I love this set! It looks amazing with the current My AG meet outfit (which Emily isn’t wearing :P).
Hat from American Girl True Spirit Accessories
This hat = awesomeness. I haven’t quite figured out how to put it on the doll properly yet, though.
True Spirit Accessories Jacket 1
The jacket isn’t full-length, but it is C-U-T-E!
True Spirit Accessories jacket buttons
All the buttons, which have little stars on them, really work! It’s a nice touch.
True Spirit Accessories jacket American Girl tag
The American Girl tag is on left sleeve, and doesn’t really stand out from the white jacket.
True Spirit Accessories purse
The purple purse is so tiny and adorable! The pink butterfly on the flap goes along with the butterfly theme on the My AG meet outfit boots. It closes with a piece of velcro.
True Spirit Accessories money
The True Spirit Accessories set also comes with three one dollar bills and a library card. The dollars are a nice size, but they don’t fit in the purse and are only printed on one side.
True Spirit Accessories library card 1
The library card is plastic and also a good size.
True Spirit Accessories library card 2
The card fits in the purse with a bit of pushing, but just barely. I rate this four  stars, because the library card and money don’t fit in the purse.
Emily in American Girl Striped Hoodie Outfit
Last but not least . . . the Striped Hoodie Outfit! I love this outfit soooo much. I would totally wear it if it were in my size! The shirt is a bit hard to get on, because you have to pull the hood over the dolls head.
Emily in Striped Hoodie Outfit
^The shirt with the hood up^
I think that the hood is a bit too small. It fits on the head just fine, put if it covered more of her head, that would be better.
Striped Hoodie Outfit shirt back
It has this odd slit in the back. I know it’s just so that the hood can move easier, but it looks a little weird.
Striped Hoodie Outfit shoes
I have nothing bad to say about the shoes. The slip on and off really easily and I just love the colors.
Striped Hoodie Outfit shirt design
The design on the shirt is beautiful. I love how the bright colors contrast with the gray of the shirt.
Striped Hoodie Outfit shirt pocket
The pocket works!
Striped Hoodie Outfit pants
The pants go on easily. They don’t have pockets. (BTW, the orange is brighter in real life.)
Striped Hoodie Outfit hairbands
It comes with two pink hairbands.
Striped Hoodie Outfit charm 1
It comes with a “Proud” charm.
Striped Hoodie Outfit charm 2
I found it funny that the quote on the charm’s package was from a girl named Emily, because Emily was modeling the outfit! I rate this four and a half stars, because of the difficulties with the hood.
Here are some pictures of Emily in the Striped Hoodie Outfit:
What I Got for Christmas
Hello! Title is self-explanatory, below is all the cool stuff I got for Christmas, with a grand total of 8 American Girl sets =)
DSC_1326
First up is To the Stars, Isabelle, Designs by Isabelle, a notebook that I’m doing Josie’s writing program in, and a book by Liz Kessler that I’ve been dying to read ever since it came out, North of Nowhere.
I got this incredibly soft purple bathrobe, but I’m wearing it right now so I can’t show you 😉
American Girl Isabelle's Legwarmer Set
I got Isabelle’s Legwarmers Set.
DSC_1329
My mom got all my dolls gifts; a nutcracker, a tray, a notepad, a jar of mini M&Ms, a hat, scarf, and mittens set, an AHG uniform, and a mini pot, watering can, and seeds. Oh, and the just-add-water dirt stuff.
American Girl Himalayan Kitten and Rembrandt
Rembrandt and the My American Girl Himalayan Kitten.
American Girl Skateboard Set
The Skateboard Set.
American Girl Sparkly Camping Outfit
 The Sparkly Camping Outfit.
DSC_1333
And then, of course, Savannah.
DSC_1334
My parents put this dry-erase board in a box. They didn’t put Savannah under the tree, because of course I would know what it was. I mean, who could miss an American Girl doll box? So when I opened the one box with the dry-erase board in it, I totally freaked out.  I pretty much ran around the room screaming for a few minutes. (No, I’m just kidding, it was only a few seconds.)
I hope you enjoyed seeing what I got for Christmas!
What was your “star gift?”
P.S. I’m working on a DIY, so maybe that will be up soon.
Cooking Part 2 ~ Collab Post with Josie
Hi!
First off, I’m super sorry I haven’t posted in a week. I have excuses for a few days: Friday I had co-op in the morning and then I got sick. 😦 Saturday I was really tired from being sick, and that’s about where the explanations end. Oh, and I had drama class on Wednesday.
Alright, I’m doing a collab post with Josie! See part 1 on her blog *here*
Now, for part 2 . . .
DSC_0084
Hey, all you lovely people and dollies. The ultra amazing Saige (me!) has decided to attempt cooking. *you people gasp dramatically*
DSC_0085
Oh yeah, in my designer apron!
DSC_0090
Ahem. So, what Felicity cooked is behind me. She was baking cookies, but  . . .
OK, let’s just say that whenever dolls cook, something usually explodes. In most scenarios, it’s the food.
But we got lucky, and that didn’t happen!
But, yeah, there was kind of a mutation . . .
DSC_0091
Those peanut butter cookies Felicity  was making evolved into a pizza.
But, hey, it’s pizza, right? What could possibly be wrong with pizza? Even if it mutated . . .
DSC_0092
Well, my grandma made some chocolate chip cookies because what we had wanted in the first place was cookies, after all.
DSC_0093
Her chocolate chip cookies are the bomb.
Well, I guess that’s it! If you try making peanut butter cookies, just follow Felicity’s recipe and hope that it won’t mutate into anything. 😉
