Doll Size Finds at Dollar Tree

02-DSC_0221

Hello! It’s me, Nevaeh Taylor. Loren went to Dollar Tree a few weeks ago and found a bunch of cute doll size items to add to her collection. I’m going to be showcasing what she found!

Let’s get started.

03-DSC_0226

First up: this adorable lamp! They come in different pastel colors — purple and yellow, to name a few — and Loren got blue because it’s her favorite color. The lamp doesn’t turn on, but it’s still super cute, and it would make a great addition to your doll’s room.

How about these drawers? The cabinet is pretty short — it only comes up to my knees — but it makes a good nightstand nonetheless. Molly and Emily have a green version of this in their room.

Loren saw this trashcan and knew she had to have it!

06-DSC_0234

You can even lift the lid and deposit all your icky trash.

07-DSC_0237

This little cactus is a sweet household plant that doesn’t require much attention — whether that’s because it’s plastic or simply a cactus is up to you. ;)

I’m excited to plant some flowers in these real terracotta pots come summertime!

With Easter coming up in a few days, Loren knew she had to get these mini Easter eggs! $1.00 for thirty-six glittery eggs.

10-DSC_0247

I can’t wait to search for these with my sisters during our Easter egg hunt!

11-DSC_0251

I saved this skateboard for last because, well . . . I’m sort of afraid of it. I’m a horrible skateboarder, and I have bad childhood memories of skateboarding on my family’s farm in West Virginia. But I have decided to overcome my fear today and learn how to ride!

Later, that is.

12-DSC_0253

The skateboard is a really good size for us American Girl dolls, and I think it looks pretty . . . swagtastic? Totes amaze? Sick? I honestly don’t know what kind of things kids say these days.

13-DSC_0256

Here’s the back. Would cool kids say that it has a wicked paint job?

14-DSC_0259

Well, I’ve decided to try skateboarding. For you guys.

15-DSC_0260

Here I go . . .

16-DSC_0264

Who-o-o-a!

As you can tell, that didn’t go well. I suppose that if I ever want to learn, I’ll have to get lessons from a professional — my sister Tracy, maybe.

Have you found any doll size things lately?

Back-to-School Doll Size Finds

Many people have gone back to school already, but maybe your dolls have a couple days of summer left! I’ve gathered some back-to-school themed doll size finds for you today.

DSC_0641

First up are these adorable three-ring binders! They come in five colors — dark blue, green, pink, light blue, and white (not shown). I got them at Staples for 50 cents apiece!

DSC_0639

The binders are the perfect size for 18″ dolls!

DSC_0643

They have a plastic sleeve on the front, just like the real thing.

DSC_0645

It comes with lots of little slices pieces of paper.

DSC_0648

The rings come apart. It’s hard the first couple of times, but after that, they come apart easily.

Next are the mini composition notebooks. They’re a little too big for dolls (let’s face it, most things are either too big or too small), but they’re still cute. I decorated mine with stickers and washi tape to give them some extra personality.

There’s lots of lined pages inside. Many stores stock these — Target, Staples, Dollar Tree, etc. I got a two pack at Staples for 50 cents.

DSC_0655

Then there’s these clipboards. The one on the left is wooden, but I painted it.

DSC_0656

You can find these at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby.

DSC_0660

The other type of clipboard comes with real sheets of lined paper, with a little strip of stickiness at the top. You can find them at Michael’s in a large variety of colors and patterns.

DSC_0662

They have a magnetic strip on the back.

DSC_0665

Moving on to some things your dolls might keep in their backpacks!

Mini tape holder

First up is a mini tape dispenser. It has real tape and actually works! I got mine at Party City for 25 cents.

DSC_0669

You can get these tiny scissors (that can cut thin paper!) in cheap sewing kits at Michael’s.

DSC_0670

If your dolls are staying up late studying for a test, they could sure use this lamp! The light bulb works and the lamp bends at the joints. You can find these at Dollar Tree.

DSC_0672

Then there’s these super-cute art supplies that actually work. You can buy them on Amazon.

DSC_0673

They’re the perfect size for American Girl dolls!

DSC_0677

See what I mean?

The rest of this post is about simple school-related crafts you can make for your dolls.

DSC_0679

These folders are as easy as folding a 6 and half x 4 and half piece of paper hamburger-style, and then folding the bottom inch up.

DSC_0682

The pencils are just painted toothpicks with one end cut off, and you can see how to make the mechanical pencils here: http://funwithagfan.blogspot.com/2013/08/back-to-school-series-craft2-doll.html

P.S. Please, please, please please please please please please post about the AG Fan Meet-up on your blog! Just add a little P.S. to a new post, or even dedicate a post to the meet-up! This thing spread like wild fire last year, but this time, it’s only been shared, like, twice.

Doll Size Finds at Party City

I was at Party City a few days ago with my mom, looking for a key-chain with a doll sized camera on it. While we didn’t find the camera, we did find some other super cute doll sized things.

American Girl doll Molly with Rubik's cube

Puzzle cube — $0.60: First up is a mini Rubik’s Cube! It’s great size for 18″ dolls.

Rubik's Cube colors

Here’s all the different colors on the cube: white, yellow, pinky-purple, blue, green, and pink.

The Rubik’s Cube really works!

Mini tape holder

Mini tape holder — $0.25: Here we have a mini tape thingy! You could get it in a variety of colors. It comes with real tape!

Molly with tape holder

It’s also the perfect size for American Girl dolls.

American Girl Molly with mini frisbee

Flying disk — $0.25: Then we have a mini frisbee. There was a variety of colors for this, too.

Molly with mini frisbee 2

It’s a great size for AG (as lots of mini things are). The dolls will have lots of fun playing with this with each other and their dogs!

Mini composition notebook

Composition book — $0.25: Last is this itty-bitty composition notebook. I think that the only color this came in was purple, but I’m not 100% sure.

Mini composition notebook 2

See how small it is?

Mini composition notebook 3

It had fifty sheets of lined paper inside.

DSC_0977

It’s pretty small for American Girl dolls, but it could be used as a little notebook for them.

Ever After Hight Briar Beauty with notebook

Or you could give it to a mini AG doll or an Ever After High doll!
