L’automne | AGPS

Me: *gets one (1) cold day*
Me: time to do an autumn photoshoot!!

I finally had time to work on posts thanks to a four day weekend caused by hurricane-induced flooding! Isn’t that fun?

I took these pictures of Samantha by the dogwood tree outside my window this morning. In my mind, autumn has begun once the tree’s berries turn red, and I noticed that they had earlier this week. Plus, I went to the grocery store yesterday and there were pumpkin-flavored foods everywhere. Donuts, teas. candies, cakes, you name it. So, yeah, it’s basically autumn already.

Here’s some fanart that shows off his outfit.

I’m already excited about Halloween. I’m planning on going as Wirt from the cartoon Over the Garden Wall. I don’t know where I’m going to get a cape or a hat like his, but I’ll make it work.

Also, some of you have been asking when I’ll post Felicity and Samantha’s profiles, and the answer is soon. I finally have profile pictures for both of them, so I’ll hopefully get those up later this month.

Does it already feel like autumn where you live?

Fall for You // AGPS

I saw the autumn leaves peel up off the street
Take wing on the balmy breeze and sweep you off your feet
And you blushed as they scooped you up on sugar maple wings
To gaze down on the city below, ablaze with wondrous things

The Real World // Owl City

Great autumn pun in the title, am I right? Ha, of course not. My puns are never good. Sorry about that.

It’s getting cold where I am. Some of the trees have already lost all their leaves. We’ve got a fire going, and I’ve been drinking hot chocolate (even though milk makes me sick) and wearing my combat boots and cute socks. The weather when autumn is turning into winter is my favorite.

I’m doing NaNoWriMo again this year (writing a novel in a month, for those who don’t know). In the past, I’ve always said I won’t be posting as much during November because I have to spend my time writing instead of working on my blog. But it feels a little different this time around. I think NaNo kickstarted my creativeness, which means I’ve been playing ukulele, writing poems, and blogging more. It’s all just an attempt to procrastinate my novel, but at least it’s productive. Long story short, I’m going to try and pull together a NaNo-themed photostory.

I hope you have a good day and enjoyed the pictures. :)

Street Performers ~ an AGPS

Yo.

Be warned: this is the kind of post that will make you say, “WHAT. WHAT IS THIS.”

Just go with it, OK? I don’t post stuff this weird all the time. And now, I present . . .

Street Performers

The brunette and the blonde.

The feisty and the withdrawn.

The Parisian and the small town girl.

The violin

and the guitar.

DSC_1807

Such different personalities.

DSC_1832

Such different ways of life.

Playing together under a streetlamp

DSC_1812

In the dying light.

DSC_1777

Fallen leaves dusted the sidewalk.

DSC_1813

We had all the time in the world to talk.

 DSC_1783

This lead to that,

DSC_1774

And when the clock struck ten,

DSC_1828

You said that we should try

DSC_1773

Being best friends.

DSC_1830

All was well, and our notes danced through the air

DSC_1785

As the autumn breeze blew through our hair.

DSC_1780

And while our friendship grew and grew,

DSC_1793

Our instruments found the same sweet tune.

DSC_1820

“Let’s go,” I said, “you and I.”

DSC_1789

“We’ll play our music for the world . . .”

DSC_1788

“Side by side.”

DSC_1783

With songs on our lips,

DSC_1815

And joy in our hearts,

DSC_1795

We began our great adventure.

And that is where my rather pathetic poem will end. Because I honestly have no desire to continue it. Sorry, not sorry.

However, I do have a lot more pictures to show you guys!

I know that I repeated some pictures, but I really don’t want to sort through all of them and delete the reused ones. That would take a very long time.

Do you play an instrument?

P.S. I recently hit 203 followers! I can hardly believe it. I just wanted to say THANK YOU to each and every one of you! Followers, commenters, readers — all of you. You guys mean a lot to me, and I’m incredibly thankful to have reached a milestone as huge and important as 200 followers. :D

Pranks and Pumpkins

Hey!

NaNoWriMo is good, thanks for asking. I’ve written 3,579 words so far :)

Anyway, I made a photostory for you all to enjoy!

DSC_0816

I was strolling home from gymnastics class one afternoon when I spotted a huge pile of leaves just off the path. Curious, I stepped off the sidewalk and approached it. Tapping the mound of leaves, I decided that it felt normal. I selected a leaf from the top and licked it. Tasted normal enough. Next, I sniffed it. Smelled like autumn. Someone must have randomly decided to make a leaf pile beside the road.

DSC_0817

As I was turning around to continue my journey towards home, two hands shot out of the leaves and grabbed my ankles.

Help!” I screamed, jumping away from the hands.

Muffled laughter came from the pile.

DSC_0823

The mound exploded, revealing Tracy and MJ, who were lying on the leaves and laughing so hard they could barely breathe.

“We got you so badly!” Tracy crowed, slapping her knee.

MJ was laughing too hard to say anything.

“Ha, ha, very funny,” I growled, putting my hands on my hips. I wouldn’t admit it, but the prank was pretty hilarious.

DSC_0829

“Hey, Ivy, want to join us?” MJ asked when she could speak again. “We’ll build a larger pile of leaves and prank someone else.”

It sounded so fun, I finally gave in. Eagerly, giggling the whole time, we raked up a heap of fallen leaves at least two times our height. We scramble up the side and made a crater in the top where we could hide while we waited for a victim to walk by.

DSC_0832

Worming down into the leaves, we speculated about who would wander by next and how they would react. Caroline would probably scold us for pranking her. Savannah and Emily would join us. Some would probably cry. Others would run away, squealing.

DSC_0839

Soon, we heard someone plodding along on the sidewalk. We hastily stuck leaves on top of our heads to hide ourselves from our victim. Through the leaves, I spotted Saige — she was wearing black boots, sunglasses, a super-short orange dress, and a cropped black jacket.

“Get ready, guys,” I whispered to my sisters.

DSC_0841

The leaves crackled as we prepared to launch ourselves at Saige. The second she was in range, we pushed our hands through the plants and waved them at her, moaning like zombies.

She shrieked and fell to the ground.

Tracy, MJ, and I cracked up, howling with laughter.

DSC_0848

We dug ourselves out of the pile, pointing at Saige and drawing short, giggling breaths.

Saige was furious. “You guys are so immature! See this dress — you could have ruined it! I just bought it, too. You almost destroyed something amazing!”

DSC_0852

I abruptly stopped laughing and stood up. “Gosh, Saige, we were just having some fun,” I said. “Chill.”

She turned on her heel and huffed, “I’m going home. I must keep this dress out of reach of you pranksters. Plus, I’m busy — there are pumpkins to carve!” Saige stormed down the sidewalk.

DSC_0856

The “pranksters” and I glanced at each other.

Pumpkins?

We sprinted all the way home.

DSC_0889

When we arrived at our house, we were delighted to find five adorable pumpkins sitting on our back porch. I was all too happy to whip out my iPhone and take pictures of my sisters posing with the gourds!

DSC_0896

MJ sat on them like they were lowly vegetables.

DSC_0905

Tracy treated them like armrests.

DSC_0917

Saige . . . uh . . . sat there . . .

DSC_0920

MJ took my picture, because she was the only one I trusted to handle my phone with care :)

Autumn Walk

DSC_0123

Emily saw her sister and friend, Molly, gazing out the window. She had been really quiet since school, and Emily knew something was wrong.

DSC_0124

She walked over and joined her. “What are you doing, Molly?” she asked.

DSC_0125

“Missing summer vacation,” Molly answered grumpily without looking up from the window.

DSC_0126

Emily wasn’t satisfied. “Why don’t we take the dogs for a walk?” she suggested. She’d get the truth out of Molly sooner or later.

“OK.”

DSC_0129-001

They rounded up the dogs and went outside.

DSC_0130

Molly took a deep breath of the cool October air. “I love autumn,” she said.

DSC_0131

Emily nodded in agreement. “The leaves are changing colors, it’s getting cooler . . . oh, and Thanksgiving! I especially like Thanksgiving.”

DSC_0132

Molly laughed at her friend’s excitement in a holiday that she herself didn’t really care for.

DSC_0133-001

They had just stepped out onto a path when Emily decided to give Molly’s problem another shot.

DSC_0134

“Molly, why were you so glum earlier? I know it’s not that school has started again — you love school — but maybe something during school upset you?”

DSC_0135

Molly sighed before replying. “It just . . . well, I didn’t do very well on a science test we had today.”

DSC_0136

“I’m very sorry!” Emily exclaimed. “I’m sure you studied quite hard.” Molly was an all A’s student, so she was usually depressed when she got a bad grade — and that didn’t happen often. Emily picked a light pink flower from a bush they passed by.

DSC_0137

She tucked the flower in Molly’s hair. Molly likes the outdoors, she thought. Maybe this will help cheer her up.

DSC_0138

They continued on their walk, and Emily suggested asking Tracy or Caroline for help in Science class. Then Emily confessed that she hadn’t done very well in Math that day, and Molly happily agreed to help her.
